ARTIST STATEMENT

I put my feelings to art to make it easier to process my emotions. My pieces often go through a non-linear process to reach a completed state, much like myself. As a Childhood Cancer survivor, creating art is my way of sharing my complex feelings with those around me. Most of my art is emotion that is easier for me to see than harbor.

I employ an interdisciplinary practice through using traditional printmaking methods, digital media and animation to navigate systems, patterns, and movement. This is why my work exhibits strong texture, movement, and patterns. By using mixed media to communicate a strong hand-done feeling to all my work, I make my pieces seem raw and organic.
